The Tiger Sharks Board members are a group of dedicated volunteers committed to ensuring a seamless and effective season.
Meet Monica Brooks! Monica has been a Pickerington local for over a decade and officially joined the Tiger Sharks in 2023. Her favorite part of summer swim is seeing kids make lasting memories and have fun together.
When she’s not supporting the team, Monica enjoys spending time with her blended family, homeschooling her 10-year-old son, and running her own business. She also serves as Board Secretary for the nonprofit Thriving Beyond Breast Cancer and hosts her own podcast.
Wyland and her family joined the Tiger Sharks in 2021 as her son Levi started competitive swimming. Later, their youngest son Liam also joined the Tiger Sharks in 2023.
Wyland started competitive swimming at the age of 4, just before turning 5, with the Reynoldsburg Marlins Swim Team, alongside her five older siblings. Her swimming journey continued until she was 18, including her time with the Reynoldsburg High School swim team, where she specialized in the 200 and 500 yards freestyle. Throughout her high school years, she was recognized as the female MVP swimmer in her Junior and Senior years. Additionally, Wyland shared her expertise by coaching for the Reynoldsburg Marlins Swim Team in the summers of 2009 and 2010. Some of her fondest childhood memories revolve around summer swims with Coach Cheryl, also known as Coach Max.
Susan Mitman - Secretary
Meet Susan, originally from Swanton, Ohio! She started swimming in first grade and continued until high school, where she transitioned to cross country. Susan received a college scholarship for her running skills, and her favorite swimming stroke is breaststroke. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, and shopping. Susan has been married to her husband Brice for 13 years, and they have three kids: Connor (11), Caleb (6), and Caden (3). Connor swims on the Tiger Sharks during the summer and GCSTO in the fall/winter, while Caleb is into soccer and swimming. Caden just loves to join in on his brothers' activities.
Fun Fact: Susan loves country music and enjoys attending concerts.
