The Tiger Sharks are very happy to announce that Kolya Larson and Joe Phillips have been added to our coaching staff as Junior Coaches.

TCAL gave Kolya her first taste of competitive swimming 10 years ago when she joined the Baltimore Sea Lions. Five years ago, she made her move to the Tiger Sharks and is thrilled to give junior coaching a try this season!

Not only is Kolya a Tiger Shark, she's also a year-round Stingray for the Lancaster Y Swim Team and a Tiger for Central's HS Swim Team. Kolya considers herself a sprinter with breaststroke being her favorite stroke. She has been a National YMCA swimmer for the past two seasons.

Soon to be a senior at PHSC, Kolya is a Distinguished Honor Roll student with math and science being her favorite areas of study. When not at school or in the pool, Kolya enjoys drawing, listening to music, hanging out with her toy poodle Adrian & her cat Richard Parker, and exploring nature. Sleeping and eating are also high on her list!

Kolya absolutely loves to swim for the Tiger Sharks in the summer because it's so fun and relaxed! Her advice she'd like to give to other swimmers is: "Try your best to improve at practice and stay relaxed at meets." GO TIGER SHARKS!

Joe Phillips has been a Tiger Shark since 2014, as well as a club swimmer for LYST the last two years and a Green Wave swimmer during middle school. Joe is a three-year varsity letterman for the Pickerington Central High School Swim Team.

Passionate about everything he does, Joe is excited to be joining the Tiger Sharks coaching staff this year!

Joe has worked as a lifeguard at the Pickerington Community Pool the last two seasons. He also works at the Garver YMCA. Joe is involved in many clubs at PHSC which include: Drug-Free Club, SADD, and National Honor Society. He has been on the Distinguished Honor Roll all three years of high school and will graduate in 2019.

Best advice for Tiger Sharks swimmers: "Being on a team can be a great experience if you just let loose and have fun with everyone you meet!"
