Week 3

            Good Afternoon Tiger Shark Families!

We've had our 1st Team Breakfast and 1st Home Meet checked off! Both were HUGE success! Thank you to every volunteer, every parent, every swimmer for being instrumental members of our team!

If you've not yet checked the meet results click here to see them PTS vs. JNJ Results

Due to many requests at the meet, our Spirit Wear Store is OPEN only until Monday, June 11th at Midnight. We are NOT purchasing any extra spirit wear to sell. This is your ONLY OPPORTUNITY to get OFFICIAL Tiger Shark Spirit Wear items! Click here to order! Spirit Wear Store

            • Spectators: Please, it is incredibly important that our timers and officials have a clear view of the pool in order to appropriately watch strokes, turns, starts, finishes, etc...we are asking that you and swimmers who are waiting for their turn to stand clear of the pool wall.
            • A team t-shirt was found after the meet behind the concessions area. If your child is missing his/her shirt (YM), please see Julie Larson to claim it.
            • Speaking of team shirts: we have approximately 50 swimmers who still have not picked up their shirts. We will have the shirts at MOD Pizza tomorrow from 6-8 and at practice later this week.
            • While we offer team suits through our team store to purchase, we do not require that our swimmers wear the official team suits. However, we are asking that any swimmer who wears a swim cap to wear our OFFICIAL silver team cap. It's only $5 and made of a high-quality silicone with traction for a better grip. You can purchase the cap at the concession stand during our home meets & during some morning practices. The design is special for our 30th season and with such a large team, it's nice to have a unifying piece that makes us look more cohesive. Plus, they look cool!  :)
            • Meet Ribbons will be in swimmer bins midweek.
            • I want to address some concerns we've received regarding chlorine levels at the pool: Often times when the heat rises, swimmer attendance rises as well. What happens, then, is you have a large number of people jumping in & out of the pool, taking water and chlorine with them. To counter act this, more chemicals (chlorine & others) are added (or over added) and that throws the balance off. The past 2 weekends, the pool has experienced high attendance-which is great for them-but not so great for that very delicate balance. (Additionally, I was informed that the pool pump was not functioning properly last weekend.) So, when the chlorine levels are too high, we cannot safely enter the pool. Since the pool is city-owned, we must wait until their staff arrive each morning to check the chemical levels and determine whether or not swimmers can enter the pool. When we cannot get into the pool, we will have dry-land exercises during practice. Coach Bri will send a REMIND message as soon as she is notified of the possibility that the swimmers will do dry-land for that practice. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but so much of it is out of our control. However, we will make the best of it as dry-land is an incredibly important component of the sport.
            • Please remind your swimmers to check in with their coaches after each event they swim at the meet! This is a very important time to get effective feedback on the event and a high-five!
            • What's Happening This Week:
              • 6/11 MOD Pizza Fundraiser (ALL Day) --Flyer is attached!
              • 6/11 Executive Board Meeting at MOD Pizza 6-8 PM
              • 6/15 Meet Set up 7:45 PM
              • 6/16 PTS vs. CWK (arrive at 6:45 for warm ups)

Have a great week & I'll see you at the Shark Tank!
