Announcement from our Swim School Partner
GCSTO Holding Spring Swim Team Tryouts
Athletes interested in joining club swimming this spring are welcomed to give The Greater Columbus Swim Team of Ohio (GCSTO) a try. GCSTO is looking for athletes between the ages of 6 and 18 for its spring season which begins April 1. GCSTO practices at the Columbus Academy in Gahanna and the St. Charles Preparatory School in Bexley and new athletes will be allowed to participate with the team for 1 week in order to allow the athlete and their family to see the quality programming GCSTO has to offer before needing to decide whether to commit or not. GCSTO's high quality swim program is flexible and encourages Polar Bears to also be involved in their fun summer leagues.
The team offers an excellent learning environment for younger swimmers who may be continuing on with their club swimming career, for those who are just starting out with club swimming or for those trying to get a jump on their summer league season. GCSTO also provides an excellent senior program training environment for year around swimmers and even has a program for high school swimmers to condition and train during the off-season for their high school team. GCSTO had 4 alumni in the 2016 USA Swimming Olympic Trials with 2 athletes placing 5th in their events at those trials, has former alumni Hannah Stevens as a member of the USA World & World University Games Team, and has a tremendous history in terms of producing quality athletes from amongst their own ranks.
The team will hold tryouts for its’ spring season starting the first week of April. Anyone interested in trying out for the team should contact GCSTO head coach, Steve Nye, at (614) 478-5445 or [email protected] for information on how to get registered.
