Parent Meeting Notes
Parent Meeting Notes
- Welcome! Team fees for 2020 season were discussed because the city has now decided to add a "per swimmer" surcharge of $30 for the 2020 season. This is on top of the $3000.00 (Three THOUSAND!) dollars we already pay to rent the pool for practices & meets.
- Communication: Please check our website frequently as we update it ALL THE TIME. Also, our Facebook page is very active and we now have Twitter and Instagram. To receive text messages, please sign up for our remind account. Text @ptsswim to 81010 to sign up for text messages.
- Athlete meet entries: Our 1st meet is SATURDAY! Please go onto the website to declare your swimmer for the meet. Additionally, you can also sign up to volunteer. Current volunteer spots open are: Bull Pen, Timers, concession. We need 80 volunteers for each of our swim meets for them to run smoothly and on time! Other teams charge their parents if they do not fulfill minimum volunteer requirements. This has been a discussion for the past 3 years at Executive Board meetings and, after a review of data for this season,it will be a discussion item again. Please help your swimmers' team by volunteering!
- Fundraisers for this season: Chipotle, MOD Pizza, Graeters, and possibly spirit wear sales. Please check our website for information and dates.
- We are going to enter the 4th of July again this year! We want to make our presence even greater! We received a ton of positive feedback last year from parade watchers! Word on the street is that those "other 2" Pickerington teams are also planning to be in the parade! It's fun to be positive trendsetters!
- We have silicone swim caps for sale! $10 for long hair, $7 for short hair. If you child wears a swim cap (not required), it MUST be a Pickerington Tiger Sharks cap. No exceptions.
- We are working on organizing the team pics. Kelly Hughes will send out information once it's solidified. Stay Tuned!
- Practice Information: It has been repeated multiple times for parents to keep clear of the swimming deck during practice times. It is unacceptable and unsafe to try to hold a conversation with a coach while we have swimmers in the water. The same goes for trying to talk to your swimmer during practice. Parents are to remain in the grassy areas or under the awnings of the pool. Next conversations will occur with individual parents.
- All questions, concerns, suggestions, etc... are to go directly to Coach Sheridan either before or after practice.
- Final Notification of Team Cuts: will be made by Coach Sheridan on Thursday. Any swimmer who does not make the team will receive a full refund of team fees. TCAL (our league) has now determined that swimmers who cannot swim the minimum pool length for their ages (without assistance) cannot swim in our meets.
