First EC Meeting of 2018, Summary
On Monday, January 22nd, the Tiger Sharks Executive committee met to kick off 2018 season planning. This is our 30th Anniversary, and we plan to make it the biggest, most exciting season ever! We're even hoping to celebrate by participating in Pickerington's Fourth of July Parade! Here's a brief summary of topics discussed.
Coaching - We made some exciting hires and will be releasing more info as soon as everything is in place!
Swimmer Recruitment - We continue to get the word out about our team every way we can. Have you seen us featured in the Pickerington Community Calendar? We're supporting Pickerington & Reynoldsburg High School Swim Teams, we'll be represented at the Heritage Summer Camps and Activities Fair, and we'll continue to promote our team in the community through the spring.
Website & Online Team Management - We've made investments in our online presence. All team data is now available online to our Team Managers and coaching staff. This will improve our ability to manage registration, communication, team entries, and volunteer coordination. We pay a fee for these cloud services.
Pool Time - Pckerington Parks & Rec. will again provide lifeguards and the use of the pool for our morning practices. Additionally, five Saturday mornings and some Sunday mornings will be available to the team for meets and special events. We will again hold our Team Banquet at the pool. Our pool cost for the use of the pool will be increased slightly, plus we plan to use more days.
Swim Fee - The EC set our 2018 swim fee. To cover our increasing costs, the per-swimmer fee will be $110 through the day of our Open House on April 19th. The per-swimmer fee after the date of our Open House will be $125. For your convenience, online payments will be accepted at no additional cost. As soon as our registration goes live, you'll be able to register and pay online. In the meantime you can pre-register and help us get swimmer counts. (https://members.tigersharks.us) Create account (new members) or Login (returning members) first, then register.
Meet Schedule - Tri-County Aquatic League is holding the first meeting next month. We asked for 4 home meets and are sure to get at least 3. Schedules will likely come out sometime in March. More on this as it develops.
Fundraising - To help us pay the cost of our youth program, we'll be reaching out to community business for fundraising. We plan to coordinate with some local restaurants again for fundraising nights out. We'll also be selling ads in our heat sheets. If you have a business and would like to help, please contact us.
Car Wash - Our 2018 Tiger Sharks Car Wash is planned for June 2nd. We'll need volunteers, especially kids! This event was a huge success last year and the kids had a blast!
Pool Cleaning - In preparation for opening the pool, there will be a pool cleaning day. The Tiger Sharks will again help and volunteers will be needed. This will be on the weekend of May 5th.
That's if for now. Next EC meeting is on February 26th, at Cardo's.
GO TIGER SHARKS!
